DURGAPUR CLUB was founded in 1957 as ISCON CLUB by the British Consortium ISCON and its first President and Vice President were British citizen. It was founded as a non-profit organisation meant for social & entertainment purpose  for the senior executives of Durgapur Steel Plant and Alloy Steels Plant. It's members include Senior Govt. Officials & businessmen of repute. It is named as DURGAPUR CLUB from 1963.  Presently as per the constitution MD, DSP is always it's President. An executive committee, headed by the Vice President (who is also the Chairman of the club) is elected every year before 30th June. There exists a LADIES CLUB whose chairperson is wife of MD, DSP. The Club was visited by many important persons including QUEEN ELIZABETH  II
